Packing and Moving Advice

How far in advance should I start packing?

Packing almost always takes longer than expected, so it’s best to start early. Begin with items you don’t use every day, such as books, decorations, and seasonal clothing.

The main essentials include sturdy packing boxes, strong packing tape, bubble wrap, packing paper, marker pens for labelling, plastic bags for small items, and soft household items like towels or blankets for padding.

Label every box clearly with its contents and the destination room. This makes unloading and unpacking far quicker and less stressful.

No. Overfilled boxes are harder to carry and more likely to break. Use smaller boxes for heavy items and larger boxes for lighter items.

Packing Specific Rooms

What’s the best way to pack a kitchen?

Wrap plates, cups, and glasses individually in packing paper. Use bubble wrap between stacked items and clearly mark boxes as FRAGILE. Dispose of open food and clean appliances before packing.

Where possible, use the original packaging. If not, wrap items in bubble wrap and cushion them securely inside sturdy boxes.

Wardrobe boxes are ideal for hanging clothes. Alternatively, fold clothes into boxes or reusable storage bags. Suitcases can also be used for quick packing.

Pack toiletries last. Make sure all bottles are tightly closed and place them in plastic bags to prevent leaks. Keep medications clearly labelled and consider transporting important prescriptions yourself.

Ordering and Quality

Are your products the same as those used by removal companies?

Yes. All our packing materials are the same high-quality products used daily by professional removal businesses.

Purpose-made packing boxes and materials are stronger, safer, and designed to protect your belongings properly, reducing the risk of damage during your move.
